9 Things I Did in 2013

Here comes another year in my life. I wouldn’t say 2013 was the most eventful among all the years that I have lived through so far in my life but I’d still consider it a very colorful one. Here are some of the things that I did in 2013 which are probably worth (being) highlighted.

1. Took a selfie at the mouth of an active volcano

2. Did another marathon

I mean, a real 42.195 km, no less! 21KMs suddenly felt so forgettable that I wouldn’t even blog about them anymore 😛

3. Saw the underwater for the first time.

Although I had to stay afloat and be frustrated that I couldn’t go any further than within the span of my arms, it was actually my first time seeing the underwater world LIVE.  I had seen it on tv like numerous times but seeing it live with my very own eyes and actually being bodily THERE is totally different.

4. Set foot onto the very last state of Malaysia that I had not been to YET – Perlis. Yayyy! !

It even overshadowed the fact that I went to Langkawi for the first time – both in the same trip. Heh.

5. Watched The Phantom of the Opera

Well, watching a theater might not be a thing worth being wowed for but when we are talking about the most watched musical theater in history – not to mention the most profitable and successful one, then it brings you to a totally different level of self-accomplishment.

6. Watched Metallica and Linkin Park back-to-back!

I’d say, I’d die a happy man. Yes, to that extent 🙂

7. Stood on top of Japan

It happened when I randomly picked something out of my bucket list. The fact that it was only open for hikers within a certain period of the year had prompted me to do it before – say – EBC and Milford Sound. I wouldn’t say it was the most beautiful mountain that I have ever been to but the fact that I hiked to the highest standing point in Japan is certainly something to be remembered for a life time.

8. Changed my job

Well, of course I’m still working for the same company but the fact that I left my previous job (rubbing shoulders with some of the most powerful men in the country) for something much more un-glamorous was something that took a lot of guts to do.2013-10-10 12.21

Yupp, I am no back to being a student again except that I’m fully paid for it. I’d like to believe that I’m enjoying it for now and that it gives me the chance to feel so nerdy and virgin again laidat. Kidding 😛 For now it’s too early to say much about it but I sense 2014 is going to be a great year for me regardless of what I’m doing. Positivity is the keyword. He.

9. Visiting the birthplace of my faith.

It was something that I had been dying to do for such a long time. I am not a religious person but I take Christianity very seriously. I mean, if I were to die tomorrow, my faith is the only thing that could take me back to my creator. It is my only hope. And of course, nothing could make me happier than taking my mom with me. ^_^

I sense that 2014 is going to be a very hectic year for me. Traveling is still my very thing although I foresee some complications as a result to the change of job. I have to plan far ahead and very very carefully. Hiking is going to be my very main activity although running might still be somewhere in the corner to keep me fit.

Let us all usher in 2014 with high spirits and lots and lots of positivity!

Happy New Year!
